Why does the city clear bike lanes, but not sidewalks?

A comment on Jeff Outhit’s article: The city won’t clear the sidewalks, but they clear bike lanes that people don’t even use in summer or winter. Why do they see the need to clear the bike lanes when nobody’s using them, especially in the winter?

Just because the city puts in bike lanes, it doesn’t mean senior citizens are going to go out and buy bicycles to use. City council should do some thinking.
