Recent local happenings leave reader gobsmacked
Re:
Waterloo business owners frustrated — June 8
The uptown Waterloo merchants are quite right to be concerned and infuriated with demonstrations every Sunday in Waterloo Square.
As someone who lives close by, I avoid that area like the plague.
One doesn’t know whether to laugh or cry that these “serious” unmasked demonstrators can be persuaded to leave a store when offered free ice cream.
Speaking of plague, do I or do I not still have my original appointment for my second vaccination?
An email says “no” and the newspaper says “yes.” I get it that the public health department is in “chaos.” Good luck to them (and us).
Well then, of course, there’s the pesky problem of wealthy rogue travellers landing at Breslau airport and coming, sans isolation, to mingle among us.
Why do I get the idea that I have somehow landed on Napoleon’s side in the Battle of Waterloo?
