KITCHENER — A man arrested three times for illegally selling cannabis products in Cambridge has been sentenced to 30 days of house arrest for the latest offence.

In May 2019, he was busted at an illegal cannabis dispensary at a flea market on Hespeler Road in Cambridge. Less than two months later, he was arrested again at the flea market.

The raids by the Provincial Joint Forces Cannabis Enforcement Team seized a total of $39,000 in cannabis products and $19,000 in cash.

The Hamilton man, 53, previously received a suspended sentence on those charges — unlawful possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and distributing.

The man was arrested again, this time in October 2020 at a building on King Street West in Cambridge.

“Foot traffic was observed attending the permanently closed Flame Lily Nails & Spa and police determined that to be suspicious,” federal prosecutor Kathleen Nolan said.

The cannabis enforcement team seized 683 grams of loose cannabis, 28 packs of cannabis edibles, 20 packs of shatter and some magic mushrooms. The total value was set at $8,600, although the accused claimed the estimate is high.

The man pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and was sentenced in Kitchener court on Friday to 30 days of house arrest. He was also ordered to do 80 hours of community service work.
