Road rage leads to weapons charges

A man who allegedly threatened another driver with a knife during a road-rage incident has turned himself in to Guelph police. The incident happened at 6 p.m. on Sept. 23 in front of a home near the intersection of Starwood Drive and Eastview Road on Guelph’s east side, a Guelph police news release said.

The release provided no details about what led to the “road rage,” but said it led to two men getting out of the vehicles they had been driving. One man then pulled a foldable knife out of his pocket, opened the blade and held it out in a threatening manner, it said. He eventually got back in his car and drove away, but at around 10:30 p.m. the same night, the man went to the Guelph police station and turned himself in.

A 29-year-old Guelph man was charged with assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
