KELLY, Heather Ann (nee Ford)

Aged 78, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2021 after a long fight with chronic lung disease.

Heather will be missed by her husband of 57 years, Joe Kelly, daughter Sue and her husband Glen, son Steve and his partner Christian, her sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Robert Fach and their extended family. Her numerous grandpets will miss her pats and snuggles, but most of all the way she always shared her cookies.

Heather was born in Galt and as a teenager, fell in love with Joe when he invited her to a highschool dance at GCI. While raising two young kids, Heather and Joe started Kelford Industrial Sales together in 1978. Kelford became a true family business and after years of work and dedication, it continues to be a success. In retirement, Heather became actively involved in giving back to her community, helping to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years for causes dear to her heart and winning The Paul Harris Fellow Award for Community Service. She was happiest when organizing fundraising events for charities, surprise parties for family and friends, or inviting guests to the cottage in Sauble Beach that she and her family built from the ground up.

Heather and Joe travelled all over the world, from the Pyramids, to the Great Wall, to the glaciers, she was always excited to sail away on the next new cruise ship. In recent years, holiday cruises became a new tradition - where she would be surrounded by family, the never ending ocean, and the allure of the next exotic port - and probably something new and sparkly to wear.

Sparkle enticed her to make jewelry which adorns many friends and family, If you're sitting under a blanket remembering her then you know that birthdays, births, illnesses, and just because "that wool is so nice" were all reasons for her to crochet a new afghan - custom colours, sizes, cool nights, warm nights, she had you covered. Heather always told us "there's love in every stitch". These handmade treasures were among the many ways she said "I love you".

Heather Kelly was an accomplished, loving, and extraordinary person. Her family looks forward to holding a Heather-worthy-event to celebrate her life - sometime when it is safe for all who loved her to attend.

Enjoy this next journey Mom, safe travels.
