Car sale arranged online goes wrong

A person looking to sell a vehicle online was taken to hospital after the potential buyers beat them up and drove off in the car. The victim had posted a 2018 black Toyota Corolla for sale on a buy-and-sell website and arranged to meet interested buyers in the area of Overlea Drive and Westmount Road West, Kitchener. The two parties met on Thursday at around 8:20 p.m. During their interaction, the suspects stole the car and were last seen on Westmount travelling toward Queen’s Boulevard, Waterloo Regional Police said. The victim received non-lifethreatening injuries and was transported to hospital by paramedics. Police are asking anyone with information to contact them at 519-570-9777.
