Canada finishes 11th in relay

Canada finished 11th in the six-kilometre mixed relay as the open-water swimming competition began Sunday at the FINA world championships. Eric Brown of PointeClaire, Que., anchored the race for the Canadians, who finished in one hour seven minutes 34.7 seconds. Katrina Bellio of Mississauga, opened the relay. She was followed by Alexander Axon of Newmarket, Ont., and Edmonton’s Emma Finlin. Germany won gold in 1:04:40.5. Hungary took silver and Italy settled for bronze.
