401 closed for two nights

Travelling overnight on Highway 401 through Cambridge will be im- possible for two days next week. The westbound 401 lanes will be closed at Hespeler Road for a girder erection on Monday, Aug. 15, from 11 p.m. to Aug. 16 at 5 a.m. The eastbound 401 lanes will be shut down at Hespeler Road for a girder erection the next night, Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 11 p.m. to Aug. 17 at 5 a.m. Detours will be in place, and the work is weather-dependent. The 401 will have nightly intermittent lane reduction at the Hespeler Road underpass before and after the two full closures. The Townline Road interchange westbound onramps are currently closed for work, and the closure is anticipated to last multiple months.
