The prime minister should be bringing the country together

Re: When hostility rules, we can’t collaborate as rational citizens — Sept. 8

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau shows a complete lack of selfawareness for his actions, and his divisive tactics divide Canadians instead of unifying them.

Letter writer Karl Dick asked for substantive examples of Trudeau harassing his opponents. Here are some:

He called Canadians who disagree with him racist and misogynist repeatedly.

He referred to the unvaccinated as “those people.”

During the trucker protest, he referred to those protesting mandates and job losses as the “fringe minority.”

He continued to pit Canadians against each other with his vindictive vaccine mandates, creating a two-tier society where the unvaccinated are unwelcome.

Trudeau has said: “We shouldn’t defend the rights of people who are not vaccinated … I have no sympathy for you.”

Trudeau was asked a question by Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman, a Jewish woman, about invoking the Emergencies Act. He accused her of supporting those who waved swastikas.

He continues to call Canadians he disagrees with racist — while his government hired Laith Marouf of the Community Media Advocacy Centre, a person with extreme racist views, to teach anti-racism.

The prime minister should be bringing the country together. True leadership means leading by example.
