STANDOFF ENDS PEACEFULLY
Negotiations between police and a man barricaded inside a hotel room on Tuesday ended with a pair of arrests.
For several hours, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service were in discussions with a man who had barricaded himself inside a hotel near Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue. During the negotiations, police had asked members of the public to avoid the area.
Shortly before 2 p.m., police said the situation had been resolved with the man leaving the hotel room safely. He was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Also inside the hotel room was a woman who was also arrested on several outstanding warrants. No other details were available.
