Voters appreciate local candidates

My thanks go out to local residents who ran in the recent Kitchener Centre byelection. Civic-minded candidates of all parties who wish to represent the residents where they live should be applauded for their interest, time and effort. We have a right to be represented by members of the community who know the constituents and their concerns. How would an outof-town candidate really be knowledgeable about local community issues? I especially appreciate Liberal candidate Kelly Steiss for taking community issues to heart and for investing her time and effort to represent Kitchener residents.
